Pizza sauce recipe

  • Makes: 10+ medium pizzas

  • Start to table: 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 x 700ml (24 oz) jar of strained tomatoes

  • 2-3 garlic cloves

  • 6 large basil leaves

  • Olive oil

  • Salt and pepper

Method

Roughly chop the garlic cloves.

Fry in a pan on low heat for 1 minute.

Add the strained tomatoes.

Bash and bruise the basil leaves then add to the tomato sauce.

Add a large pinch of salt and pepper.

Heat through for 5 minutes.

Pour through a course sieve into a bowl and allow to cool before spooning onto pizza crusts.
